Now we come to the third and final resurrection. We have seen that the repentant sinner who lived during Christ’s thousand-year reign on earth and died will be resurrected at the “great white throne judgement” (Rev. 20: 11 – 14). They will then receive immortal life. The vast majority of mankind who died never having heard of Christ never having been called by God will also then be raised up at the “great white throne judgement” in the physical form. They will then be given the first opportunity to receive eternal life. The books of the Bible will be opened to their

understanding and eternal life will be offered to them (Rev 20: 10). They will be given one hundred years to live (Isai. 65: 10) after which time their character is sealed. The righteous is then given immortal life and is born into the family and Kingdom of God. The unrighteous are reserved for their final fate the lake of fire.

The third resurrection will be that of those people who rejected God’s calling throughout the ages. That resurrection will consist entirely of those destined for hell’s fire. That includes those who once accepted God’s calling but later chose to willfully sin blaspheming God’s Holy Spirit reverting to the way of sin and death. These (the wicked) will all be resurrected to receive their punishment which is the second death in hell’s lake of fire. They will die; cease to exist forever. This is the second death (Rev 20: 6 and Rev. 21: 8).

The Bible reveals that God’s purpose is to prepare His people to govern the entire universe when the thousand-year reign of Christ is over. The righteous will move on to more exciting things which God has stored up for His people. Yes there are exciting times ahead for the people of God.
