law, it proves that the law is written in their hearts! Folks, this is coming from your Bible and is written by Paul the apostle! But why is it essential that the law be written in the hearts and minds?

In Romans 7: 14 we read: "For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin." In Rom. 8: 7 we read: "Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be."

The "ten commandments" is a spiritual law and so we need a spiritual element (the Holy Spirit) to empower us to keep the spiritual law! Without the Holy Spirit, the carnal mind is simply unable to keep God's law. The law is the expression of God's love! Christ himself said: "If you love me, keep my commandments" (John 14: 15). Keeping the commandments is the way we express love to God and love to man. God says: "He that sayeth, I know him [God], and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him" (1 John 2: 4).

In 1 John 3: 24 we read: "And he that keepeth his (God's) commandments dwelleth in him (God), and he (God) in him. And hereby we know that he (God) abideth in us, by the Spirit [Holy Spirit] which he hath given us." Yes folks, we know that God is dwelling in us: only if we have His Holy Spirit in us (1 Cor. 6: 19). This is made evident when we keep His law. Roman 8: 9 tells us: "But ye (the truly converted) are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you, now if any man hath not the Spirit of Christ (God), he (that man) is none of his [Christ]".

Folks, the man who has not the Spirit of God in him is carnal and has in him a mind that is hostile toward God and is simply not subject to keeping the Spiritual law (ten commandments) of God. In Romans 5: 5 we read: "And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God (as expressed by the ten commandments) is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit) which is given unto us."

1John 5: 3 tells us: "For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous." Today we are told by the preachers that the law is a burden that needs to be rid of! I tell you by the authority of God's word, that this is a lie! Yes, we can say that we know God only if we keep His commandments.

The old covenant was a marriage covenant. And so is the new covenant. We read in previous pages that God said: "My covenant they broke although I was an husband to them" (Jere. 31: 32). In Jeremiah 3: 8 God says: "And I saw, when for all the causes whereby
