As pertains the coming of the "Antichrist" (That Wicked one), We read in 2 Thes. 2: 9 -- 11: "Even him (that Wicked), whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusions, that they should believe a lie." Also, in John 3: 19 -- 20 we read: "And this is the condemnation, that light (Christ) is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone that doeth evil hateth the light, neither commeth to the light, lest (peradventure) his deeds should be reproved".

I have found that, indeed, men hate truth (light) because it quite often conflicts with their way of life. To know the truth means having to give up the things we take pleasure in, and so what do we do? We choose to accept lies as that gives us some consolation as we continue in our old sinful ways, burying our conscience in the process.

In Isaiah 30: 9 - 10 we read: "That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the Lord. Which (the rebellious people) say to the seers, see not; and to the prophets, prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits".

Law01
The Law of God is Truth.

Paul would exhort the young evangelist -- Timothy: "Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering (patience) and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lust shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables" (2 Timothy 4: 2-4).

Yes folks, we choose to follow teachers who preach to us the very things we want to hear. These preachers are nothing but deceivers who, themselves, are deceived. They are not sent by God (Jeremiah 14: 14 -- 15).

The writings of the apostle Paul are so often misunderstood. The unlearned- those who were not taught by God's Holy Spirit- are having difficulties understanding his writings.

In 2 Peter 3: 15 we read: "And account that the long-suffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; as also in all his epistles (writings), speaking in them of these things; in which are some things [which are] hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable rest (rustle), as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction."
