There is a Sin Unto Death

In 2 Pet. 2: 20 - 22 we find the same scenario. It (2 pet. 2: 20 – 22) reads: “For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ they are again entangled therein and overcome the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than after they have known it to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb the dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire”.
Heb. 10: 26- 29 reads: “For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins but a certain fearful looking for of judgement and fiery indignation which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses. Of how much sorer punishment suppose ye shall he be thought worthy who hath trodden under foot the Son of God and hath counted the blood of the covenant wherewith he was sanctified an unholy thing and has done despite unto the Spirit of grace”. The key word here is: “willfully”. That is talking about the person who willfully decides to revert to a life of sin despising the Holy Spirit which they received. Sin becomes a way of life for that person.
In 1 John 2: 27 we read: “But the anointing (anointing of the Holy Spirit) which ye have received of him [God] abideth in you and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing (anointing of Holy Spirit) teacheth you of all things and is truth and is no lie and even as it (the Holy Spirit) hath taught you you shall abide in him (Christ)”. It is by the Holy Spirit God teaches or imparts spiritual knowledge. These persons
had received the true knowledge of God and of His word. The Bible was opened to their understanding. Yet they willfully rejected the Holy Spirit which was in them.
In John 14: 26 Jesus declared: “But the Comforter which is the Holy Ghost (Spirit) whom the Father will send in my name he [the Holy Spirit] shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance whatsoever I have said unto you”. Understanding the things of God (spiritual knowledge) comes only by the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit it is not possible to receive spiritual knowledge. (1 Cor. 2: 11). These persons rejected the very essence of what God is (life of God) and the mind and power of God -the Holy Spirit- by which one is resurrected to immortality.
In Rom. 8: 11 we read: “But if the Spirit of him (God) that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken [give immortal life] your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you”. (Quicken: from the Greek word -zoopoieo means to give life). Folks read it in your own Bible! The scripture says: if the Holy Spirit dwells in you God will quicken or give immortal life to your mortal body by that same Holy Spirit that dwells in you!
Eph. 1: 13 14 reads: “In whom (Christ) ye also trusted after that you heard the word of truth the gospel of your salvation: in whom (Christ) also after that you believed ye were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise which (the Holy Spirit) is the earnest (earnest: down payment or guaranty) of our inheritance …”. (Earnest: from Greek word arrhabon means part payment given in advance as security for the rest). Did you get that? The Holy Spirit is given as a down payment of the promised immortal life!
In Rom 1: 3 - 4 we read: “Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the spirit of holiness (Holy Spirit) by the resurrection from the dead:” Folks this is coming from your own Bible! Read it for your own self! Christ was declared to be the Son of God (born again into the family of God) - how? – “by the resurrection from the dead”. Christ was raised up by the power of God - the Holy Spirit! Again in Col. 1: 15 – 18 we read: “Who [Christ] is the image of the invisible God the first born of every creature: For by him (Christ) were all things created that are in heaven and that are in earth visible and invisible whether they be thrones or dominions or principalities or powers: all things were created by him and for him: And he is before all things and by him all things consists. And he is the head of the body the church: who is the beginning the first born from the dead; that in all things he might have the pre-eminence”. Folks did you get that? The Bible is consistent! Christ is the “first born of every creature” and “the first born from the dead” (see Heb. 13: 23). That is to say: He is the first to be born into the Family of God by a resurrection from the dead! This cannot be talking about His life as “God the Word” before He became Jesus. As God “the Word” (Logos: spokesperson -John 1: 1) before He became Jesus Christ (John 1: 14) He always existed with God – God who later became the Father. The book of Hebrews 7: 3 tells us that before He became Christ He is: “Without father without mother without descent having neither beginning of days nor end of life; but made like (when He came in flesh) unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually”. That also could not be referring to His birth in the flesh or as a human being because Christ certainly was not the first human being to be born! Cain was the first.
